Responsibilities
I was responsible for the entire product lifecycle—from user research to delivery:
Led user interviews and on-site workflow observations
Prioritized core pain points and designed the product roadmap
Collaborated with engineers on system architecture and data handling logic
Built user feedback and KPI tracking mechanisms to support continuous iteration
Results
Streamlined operational monitoring and reduced the need for manual intervention.
Work Order Processing Time: Improved by 88%, reducing delays in handling administrative tasks.
Monthly Report Generation Time: Achieved a 96% optimization, drastically cutting down reporting overhead.
Through station management team feedback, charging data analysis, and competitor research, we extracted the following insights and identified opportunities for improvement:
Operators struggled with real-time monitoring and required automated solutions to reduce manual workload.
A lack of transparency in station performance metrics hindered decision-making for management teams.
There was an opportunity to design a centralized platform that could integrate real-time station data and provide actionable insights.
Simplifying the system's usability would be critical for adoption, given the operators' varied levels of technical proficiency.
In the daily operations of administrators, it has been observed that many features commonly found in competitor products, such as settings for sites, charging stations, and internal staff, are rarely used by administrators. Instead, their focus is primarily on responding to situations where car owners are unable to charge and tracking discrepancies in accounts.
The most troublesome issue is that whenever there is an abnormal transaction, the previous platform not only makes it difficult to identify the cause of the anomaly but also requires manual efforts for each case. Administrators have to contact the car owner, set up payment links for the outstanding amount, and manually update the payment progress.
Our client is like Jane — a Sales Administrator who manages the EV charging platform alone while juggling multiple projects. She often struggles with limited time and lacks visibility into real-time equipment or billing issues. What she needs most is a system that reduces manual work and helps her stay in control of operations with minimal effort.
Core design outcomes
Streamlined administrative workflows through automation, enhanced performance efficiency, and user-centered design, enabling faster decision-making and reduced manual effort.
The new dashboard shifts from a single data view to a multi-metric overview, helping users quickly monitor overall performance and identify issues.
It improves decision-making through visual summaries, intuitive layout, and filtering by site and time range.
This empowers operators to take informed actions with minimal effort.
By simplifying the table structure and adding color-coded tags and icons, maintenance staff can identify issues faster and act accordingly.
It shifts the design from data-heavy reporting to hands-on daily management.
The updated design helps users quickly grasp key metrics and abnormal transactions with a cleaner, more structured layout.
Search and filter tools are placed intuitively, and export actions are more accessible, improving overall efficiency.
It’s optimized for fast review, issue tracking, and smooth report handling.
1️⃣ Multi-role Needs Require Prioritization
When facing conflicting needs from multiple user roles, I learned to prioritize based on frequency and impact. I created a user role map and modularized the interface to avoid the trap of trying to please everyone while ending up with a cluttered, confusing product.
3️⃣ Design Must Support Financial Traceability
While designing workflows for invoice reissuance and payment claims, I realized that UX must align with financial auditability. I prioritized "supplemental actions" over direct data edits, ensuring every change is traceable and compliant.
