Project description
Background
With growing misinformation in medical and health-related news, public trust is at risk. This project proposes "Blockchain Truth," a blockchain-powered news platform designed to enhance news transparency and credibility.
Problem
Misinformation in the medical and health sector is rampant.
Traditional media and online platforms struggle to trace news sources and verify accuracy.
The lack of effective governance and user participation mechanisms leads to poor content quality control.
Solution
With growing misinformation in medical and health-related news, public trust is at risk. This project proposes "Blockchain Truth," a blockchain-powered news platform designed to enhance news transparency and credibility.
Blockchain-powered news storage
Using IPFS for distributed storage and blockchain to record news sources, timestamps, and data, ensuring news immutability and permanence.
Combining public voting and expert reviews for dual verification of news authenticity. The initial review involves public voting (51% approval with 500 participants), followed by expert data verification.
Journalists on the platform undergo identity verification, and verified journalists receive NFT credentials to publish news, with their past works and reputation scores recorded.
Journalists are rated based on news quality and authenticity. Higher reputation scores grant exclusive privileges like featured news slots, encouraging quality content creation.
Anticipated Results
While not yet implemented, the proposed solutions are expected to yield the following benefits:
Increased transparency and credibility
Blockchain ensures traceability and immutability of news content.
The voting system empowers users to participate in news verification, fostering a more trusted community-driven platform.
Journalists with better reputations gain exclusive privileges, promoting better news standards.
